New Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is chasing Leeds United winger Robert Snodgrass.
The Daily Record says Snodgrass has just a year left on his Elland Road contract and the Championship club might be tempted to sell before he moves on a Bosman.
Lambert has been handed a kitty of £25million at Villa and could make Snodgrass one of his first buys.
He tried to sign the 24-year-old for Norwich City last summer only to see his bid booted out - but Villa have more financial muscle than the Canaries.
The Carrow Road club are still fuming about Lambert's exit as Villa have yet to cough up compensation.
