David Villa is backing Barcelona's pursuit of Valencia fullback Jordi Alba. Villa played with Alba at Valencia before joining Barca.

"He's a spectacular player, and it's not only Barça that's after him. I get on very well with him, but he's a Valencia player and we should respect that. It'd be good for him to come here, because he'd be a spectacular player in any team. All I hope is that he does what's best for him," he said.
