Villa agree US broadcasting deal

Aston Villa have agreed a two-year partnership with Time Warner Cable (TWC), reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The deal will see their international television magazine programme, Aston Villa Weekly, carried on the Southern California regional sports network TWC SportsNet and its Spanish-language sister channel TWC Deportes.

The two networks will become the first outlets for official Aston Villa programming on US television.

"We are delighted to have signed this deal with Time Warner Cable," said Aston Villa head of marketing and communications Russell Jones.

"This relationship will help us reach millions of homes across America, which will not only provide existing fans with another platform to keep up to speed with events at Villa Park, but also allows us an opportunity to introduce Aston Villa to an entirely new audience."

Time Warner Cable Sports Regional Networks senior vice president and general manager Mark Shuken said: "Our viewers love soccer and we're thrilled to be able to provide them with even more premiere soccer programming through our new partnership with Aston Villa.

"The behind-the-scenes content and insider access of 'Aston Villa Weekly' perfectly match our programming philosophy and we're excited that Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes viewers can now watch it every week."
