Aston Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov believes they can deliver a major blow to Arsenal's top four prospects on Boxing Day.

"Arsenal know that if we win against them we will get further away," said the Bulgaria midfielder.

"That will make things very difficult for them so it is sure to be interesting. A win would put us a good distance clear of Arsenal. Hopefully, we can do it.

"But we know we have to be consistent if we are to stay up there, that is the hard thing now. To be third at this stage of the season is something to be proud of."
