Newcastle Jets are on the verge of securing Italian midfielder Fabio Vignaroli as its marquee player. The 33-year old has been on loan to the Jets for the past six months but ends his spell after the club takes on Pohang Steelers in the Asian Champions League on June 24.
He is however, confident of returning to Newcastle after a short stay in his homeland.
"We are very close," Vignaroli told The Herald.
"I understand the club and the club understands me.
"There is no problem. I am happy to stay in Newcastle and finish my career.
"I am not just thinking about the money. My life and family are more important," he added.
"It is important that I have a close look at the particulars and make sure it is right. But I am happy and the club is happy. It is good."
