Fabio Vignaroli is in doubt for next week's Asian Champions League clash for Newcastle.

The Jets travel to Japan to take on Nagoya Grampus but may be without their crafty Italian playmaker who injured a hamstring in a practice match during the week.

Jets coach Gary van Egmond is hoping the former Lazio star can recover before Tuesday's fixture.

"We will have a look at him tomorrow but right at this moment it's going to be a difficult one for him," said van Egmond.

"He'll probably travel with us but we don't want to take risks with him knowing that we've got both Nagoya and Beijing at home for the next few games.

"It's going to be fairly imperative that we try and get maximum points so we want to have our best team out in those two games."
