Vietnam has kicked off their Asian Cup qualifiers with a 3-1 win over Lebanon at Hanoi's My Dinh National Stadium. The ASEAN Champions opened the scoring through Nguyen Minh Phuong and the lead was doubled on the half-hour mark when Le Cong Vinh netted to take a 2-0 lead at the break.
Goal scorer Cong Vinh turned from hero to villain when he was sent off just before the 60-minute mark but it didn't pose much of a problem as Nguyen Vo Phong added a third for the home team.
A consolation goal for Lebanon followed through Akram Moghrabi but it wasn't nearly enough.
