Patrick Vieira will demand certain "tools" from Newcastle United in talks this week.

The Manchester City EDS coach is set to meet with Newcastle officials to discuss the manager's job.

Vieira spent last week doing his UEFA Pro Licence and spoke of his ambition to take charge at the top level.

The France and Arsenal legend has a clear "vision" on what type of coach he wants to be, and will expect backing.

He explained last week as Newcastle made their approach: "I'm happy with the way I am developing as a manager and a young coach.

"It's about the vision. I've been here for three years from the B licence to the pro licence and I really know myself. I really know which kind of manager I want to be.

"They don't try to put something in my head. It's about who I am as a person and how I see the game and how they can give me the tools to be a successful manager."
