Adelaide United's Aurelio Vidmar and Gamba Osaka's Akira Nishino are in line to take out the World's Best 2008 Club Coach. Other names nominated include: Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United), Rafael Benitez (Liverpool), Dick Advocaat (Zenit St Petersburg), Carlos Ischia (Boca Juniors), Ottmar Hitzfeld (Bayern Munich), Alain Perrin (Lyon), Roberto Mancini (Inter Milan) and Frank Rijkaard (Barcelona).
Both Vidmar and Nishino have been voted as standout members of the Asian Confederation and have been named as candidates for the award by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.
