Nemanja Vidic has challenged Manchester United to switch to top gear - including Cristiano Ronaldo - for tomorrow's clash with Chelsea.
Ronaldo did just that when he crashed his £200,000 Ferrari in a tunnel under a Manchester Airport runway on Thursday.
He walked away unscathed but Vidic fears for his team if they lose to Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday with United seven points behind leaders Liverpool.
He said: "One flop and we could screw up everything. The time has come for us to switch to our highest gear.
"It's true, we have not been as effective this season. We are still collecting the points but we have to improve."
