Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic enjoyed their Champions League draw at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Vidic was recalled after last weekend's defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
"It was a hard game," he stated. "We have had some bad results in the last few weeks and needed a reaction in this match. In certain ways, it proved to be a hard game. We scored an early goal and we started well but you have to accept that Shakhtar are at home and are a good side as well. They can play.
"I have to say, overall, that I was really pleased with the attitude of the players. They showed character and worked hard for the team and hard for each other so this is good build-up for the games to come."
