Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has assured the club he is not going anywhere. Recent reports have linked the Serbian international with clubs in Italy and Spain, doubled with the fact his agent said he would love to play for Barcelona, have surrounded his Old Trafford future with uncertainty.

But Vidic has moved to allay fears and assured United boss Sir Alex Ferguson that he is committed to the club.

"I have personally never said anything about Barcelona, or Real Madrid or AC Milan or any club," he said.

"Anyone who is a fan of United or the players would only have to see how I played to know how committed I am to United.

"I never speak about my future so I don't really know why someone else does.

"I spoke with my agent about this and what he said. I know about all the rumours about me but I don't want it to have an impact on the club. It's not a good time for my club to be hearing those rumours."
