Javan Vidal is keen to break into Manchester City's first team when he returns from a loan spell with Derby County.
The 20-year old has already enjoyed short-term stints with Grimsby Town and Aberdeen and now finds himself in the Championship with the Rams until the end of the season and his plan is to impress City boss Roberto Mancini so he can push for first team selection at Eastlands next term.
"Obviously, I want to play at the highest level that I can and Manchester City are playing at the highest level of the English game," said Vidal.
"However, Derby is still a massive club, with Premier League foundations, but at the moment I'm just taking it as a chance to show what I can do to Manchester City and whatever happens after that will happen.
"It has been difficult to break into the side at Manchester City, but there is a saying in football that if you are good enough then you will make it into the side one day.
"I am just working hard and trying to improve my game so that I can put myself into the manager's thoughts.
"It is all about being patient and plugging away, so that if a chance comes when players in front of you get injured or suspended then you are ready to grasp that opportunity with both hands.
"Hopefully, I can impress Roberto Mancini whilst I'm on loan at Derby and give him something to think about in terms of taking a chance on me next season."
