Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal admits directors have asked him about unsettled Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez.

Bayern are actively exploring the prospect of signing Vidal's Chile teammate this summer.

The midfielder revealed: “Bayern have asked me about Alexis and I've always told them that he is the player who should come here.

“I would like Alexis at Bayern. He is doing well at Arsenal but I think he has to take a step up and fight with the best in the world.

“He still has one year on his contract. Everybody wants him because it's easier now than if he had three years left.

“I would like him very well. He is a very good player, he has a lot of quality and he is young. We hope he will be able to come here because if he comes he will show his quality."
