Victorian Premier John Brumby has accepted a cheque for just over $20,000 from Celtic Football Club. Hoops striker Scott McDonald, who is town for next week's World Cup qualifier with the Socceroos, presented the donation for the Red Cross' Victorian Bushfire Appeal to Brumby yesterday.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Celtic Football Club for their generous donation of £10,000 to the Victoria Bush Fire Appeal fund," Brumby said.
"It's an extraordinarily generous donation.
"I'd particularly like to thank Celtic's CEO, Peter Lawwell and our state's own Scott McDonald for their role in the making of this donation."
