Victor Valdes has never felt supported by Barcelona

Victor Valdes has never felt fully supported within Barcelona, it has been revealed.

The goalkeeper's decision to leave the Nou Camp has not come out of the blue, says Punto Pelota, where he is convinced president Sandro Rosell has never rated him.

It was Rosell, as vice-president, who signed Recber Rustu instead of backing a young Valdes, and since then he's never trusted the president.

He also has never felt any support from the local media, which stems back to reports he refused to train with the reserves after a call-up to the first team squad by Louis van Gaal. Despite the reports being mistaken, with Valdes having been granted a week off, he was forced to apologise publicly to end the media speculation.

Valdes has no strong supporters within the Catalan media and has always had a mistrust of reporters.
