AS Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev was full of praise for Leonardo Jardim's side after their upset win over Arsenal on Wednesday.
The French Ligue 1 outfit produced a 3-1 result over their more-fancied rivals in the first of the Champions League Round of 16 at the Emirates Stadium.
Monaco stuck to their guns and allowed Arsenal to take the lions' share of possession before running the Gunners off their feet when attacking on the break, enabling them to score goals through Geoffrey Kondogbia, Dimitar Berbatov and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco, and setting themselves up for the return leg at home in three weeks' time.
Of the performance, Vasilyev said: "It was an amazing result.
"We just wanted to do our best, play our football, and didn't have that much pressure. The pressure was with Arsenal. We had already achieved what we wanted to in the Champions League, which was to qualify for the knock-out stages.
"So this victory is great and fantastic and it tells us that our project remains valid and ambitious and confirms that we are going the right way.
"We have a lot of respect for Arsenal and I'm sure the second match will be much more difficult."
