Holland legend Edgar Davids has ended his short stay at Championship outfit Crystal Palace. The 37-year-old made a shock move to the Eagles in August after two years without a club, but struggled to make an impact, playing only seven times.
Confirming his decision, Davids posted on his personal website: "Today (Monday) I have decided that my stay as a player of Crystal Palace FC has come to an end.
"I want to thank all the people who supported me and gave me one of the greatest experiences of my life."
Eagles boss George Burley said: "We decided it was probably better that we draw a line under him being here.
"He was a smashing lad and I enjoyed working with him but it was a big ask two years out of the game. We've got to look to the future. I'll be looking to try and get someone else in."
