Veteran Boateng completes Forest switch

Nottingham Forest have concluded the signing of experienced midfielder George Boateng. The 35-year-old, who was at Greek side Skoda Xanthi last season, agreed terms last week and has now passed a medical.

The former Holland player has made 383 league appearances in England for Coventry, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Hull, whom he left in 2010.

He told the club's official website: "I didn't expect this but I was very happy to get the chance to join a club like Forest."

He added: "I've spent all my time in England in the Premier League so this is something new for me but I would love to think I could get back into the top flight.

"I'm not here to win friends. I will do everything I can to win games - that's what matters to me."
