Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen does not blame Spurs fans for booing at the end of their 2-1 defeat by Newcastle at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Spurs missed the chance to go fourth when their 14-game unbeaten Premier League run came to an end.

It was the kind of slip-up that has cost Tottenham in recent seasons and the supporters showed their frustration, but Vertonghen said: "It was just disappointment. We were disappointed and they were as well. I can understand that."
