Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen says the fans are right to get on their backs.
Vertonghen believes the fans should expect more lot from their team.
"They have the right to expect things from us as players," he said. "We want to do well and they expect us to do well - they have expectations like we do and of course they have to express it in some way.
"I understand they were not happy with a defeat at home to Newcastle. Nor are we. We are doing well in the cups, but we need a run of a couple of good games in the league.
"People thought we had started that when we drew against Arsenal and beat Southampton.
"Maybe we were unlucky that the international break came in between, but hopefully we can get back on track now.
"It is difficult to say what is missing. I don't talk about being unlucky, but we had a good first half against Newcastle last weekend, and we were the better team.
"We lost a bit of belief after the equaliser and maybe a bit of luck. But we are working very hard and we believe in each other. We are getting close to what we want."
