Jan Vertonghen has received praise from Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas.
The Belgian defender, who joined the club from Ajax in the summer, has become an integral part of the Spurs line-up and showed that again by scoring a double in the 3-2 defeat at Liverpool.
"I think, like when we saw them against Arsenal, both central defenders [played well]," he said.
"Jan has been doing really well and he has adapted to this country very quickly. He's a defender who scores goals and today he showed exactly that quality."
