Jan Vertonghen is under an injury cloud for Tottenham's meeting with Aston Villa this weekend.
The Belgian defender is battling illness which saw him sidelined for last weekend's 0-0 draw with Burnley and is in doubt for Saturday's visit of Villa.
According to reports, Vertonghen's condition is not ideal to start a Premier League match meaning Mauricio Pochettino could be forced to start Vlad Chiriches alongside youngster Eric Dier in central defence.
