Versatility the key for LA Galaxy's Stephens

Michael Stephens admits he will need to be versatile if he wants to play in the LA Galaxy first team.

The 22-year old midfielder has tallied just over 50 MLS appearances since joining the reigning champions in 2010 but last season was used 15 times off the bench and he knows he will need to add more strings to his bow if he is to be given more starting time by head coach Bruce Arena.

"I need to be somebody who can play in a lot of different positions," Stephens told MLSsoccer.com.

"That's the best way to get on the field, so anywhere Bruce asks me to play I'll go.

"In a perfect world, I think I'd be playing in the middle. But I'm going to do anything to get playing time. If that means playing out wide, I'd be more than happy to do that."
