Juan Sebastian Veron has urged Carlos Tevez to stay with Manchester United.
Now with Estudiantes, Veron said: "I hope Carlos stays at Manchester United because it is important for Argentine football. He'll know what he has to do to resolve the situation. I hope it is all resolved for the best."
Veron, 33, currently enjoying an Indian summer with his home town club, Estudiantes de La Plata, will be casting an eye over the fortunes of two of his former sides tomorrow with a mixture of excitement and regret.
He may be 7,000 miles away in Buenos Aires, but that has done little to dampen Veron's enthusiasm for a fixture that could go some way to deciding the destiny of the Premier League title.
The talented playmaker said: "I have to thank Sir Alex Ferguson because he gave me the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"I can only complain about myself because I feel I could have given more."
As for Chelsea, who he joined in 2003 for £15m, he added: "I was troubled by a back injury which meant I could not play as much as I would have liked."
