Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen enjoyed victory over Champions League opponents Roma.

Barca thrashed Roma 6-1 on Tuesday night.

“Of course the results help but the atmosphere is positive" says the Belgian defender. “And even when things get difficult, the players are always positive and stick together as a team and that's very important.

“It wasn't easy to be focused again and make sure we played with the same intensity as we did against Real Madrid" he says of the Champions League game, in which he featured for the full ninety minutes.

“But we did it again on Tuesday … And for us to score six goals gives us a lot of confidence."
