Sporting Lisbon chief Franky Vercauteren was happy to give England youth international Eric Dier his debut on the weekend.
Dier impressed in victory over Braga in front of Everton scouts, where he spent last season on-loan.
"If we value young people and they deserve a chance, why not?" Vercauteren said of Dier.
