Verbeek praises Australian medical staff

Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek has praised the Australian medical staff for the work they did on injured players to get them up for the Uzbekistan clash.

Carl Valeri, Tim Cahill, Michael Beauchamp and Mark Bresciano were all under injury clouds prior to the match in Sydney but managed to be valued contributors in the 2-0 victory, especially Bresciano who produced a man-of-the-match performance.

"I think the medical staff did a great job," Verbeek said.

"I said yesterday in the press conference that we had four injured players coming in. Carl [Valeri], Tim [Cahill], [Michael] Beauchamp and [Marco] Bresciano.

"Bresciano had a great game and he couldn't even walk when he arrived here.

"He is getting treatment again now from the medical staff; Beauchamp is OK."

Verbeek also commented on Cahill, saying Everton should be happy seeing as the star midfielder will now be back to full fitness after receiving treatment all week.

"Everton can be very grateful to our medical staff because when he [Cahill] came in he couldn't walk," Verbeek said.

"This time they will be happy with us; normally they are not happy with us.

"I think Tim is 100% fit but whether he can play a full game is up to my colleague at Everton."
