Verbeek plays down stunning Australia victory

Australia coach Pim Verbeek was delighted with their 2-1 friendly victory over Holland last night. Australia's goals came from Harry Kewell and Josh Kennedy, though Verbeek played down the result against the fourth ranked team in world football, emphasising that it is a "friendly match only".

Verbeek said the players did well but said he is focused on Wednesday's 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

"I am focused on Wednesday's match which will be very different.

"Different circumstances, different field and a World Cup qualifier."

The Dutch were down to ten men for the second half when English referee, Martin Atkinson, dismissed the Dutch goalkeeper, Maarten Stekelenberg, for a foul against Kennedy in the 42nd minute.
