Verbeek not interested in result against Denmark

Australia boss Pim Verbeek says he is not interested in the final result when his side takes on Denmark in a World Cup warm-up match in Roodepoort tonight. The Socceroos will meet the Danes with almost their full list of players besides Harry Kewell and Brett Emerton but Verbeek admits he is looking more for a solid performance and how they go about their business rather than what the scoreline will show.

"I am not interested in the result at all - of course we like to win but I'm looking for tactical organisation, the way the team defends, the way we build up, the way we attack," Verbeek said on Monday.

"If we win it will be nice. If we lose it will be okay also.

"We play to win of course, but I have other things as my priorities."

From the friendly win over New Zealand last Monday, goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer returns to the starting line-up after missing with a thumb injury whilst striker Josh Kennedy will also start.

Verbeek is set to use his preferred four in defence which consists of Scott Chipperfield on the left, captain Lucas Neill and veteran Craig Moore in the centre and Luke Wilkshire on the right.

It is likely that Vince Grella and Jason Culina will play defensive midfield roles with Richard Garcia and Mark Bresciano will be deployed on wings and Tim Cahill will act as a shadow striker in behind Kennedy.
