Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek has hinted that a strike partnership of Melbourne Victory's Archie Thompson and Danny Allsopp could be an option.

Verbeek has said that with limited preparation, it might be wise to play people together who are familiar with each other's style.

"We will have no preparation, so it might be best to pick players who play together," Verbeek said yesterday.

"So we have to figure out which is the best combination."

That points towards a Victory attack as Thompson and Allsopp are the obvious option of players who play together and are familiar with one another.
