The official announcement that Australia national team coach Pim Verbeek will quit his post after the World Cup will be made in the next few days.
The Dutchman has ended speculation that he may or may not quit by saying he will end his tenure when the Socceroos' run in South Africa ends as he is reportedly keen to return to club coaching.
Football Federation Australia officials have not yet put in place any potential successors as assistant coach and usual caretaker Graham Arnold has taken the job at Central Coast Mariners whilst Verbeek's other assistant Henk Duut will almost certainly leave when his fellow countryman does.
