Blackburn defender Brett Emerton inspired Australia to a 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Qatar.
And then revealed he will play in the Socceroos next match in China on March 26.
He then boarded a plane to jet back to England, well in time for Blackburn's next game against Arsenal on Monday.
But with Rovers facing Wigan and Reading either side of that game in China, Emerton could be facing a clash with manager Mark Hughes.
Aussie boss Pim Verbeek said: "The good thing from my point of view is that Brett Emerton has agreed to play against China (at altitude) on March 26."
