Dr Jo Venglos was back at Villa Park for last night's UEFA Cup tie between Aston Villa and MSK Zilina.
The former Villa manager told AVTV: "It is excellent to back at Villa Park - a real privilege. I respect Villa very much and I have great memories of being manager here.
"Villa are a historic club. They are one of the founder members of both the Football League and the Premier League so they are a big name in the game.
"They are certainly a big name in Slovakia but saying that, they are a big name all over Europe. In fact, they are big all over the world.
"I wish Villa all the best. They are doing very well in the top-flight. In Martin O'Neill, they have a great manager and he has top players in the squad.
"I always look out for their results. I am delighted they are near the top of the league. Fans should be proud of the club and how it is moving forward."
