Terry Venables believes a resurgent Tottenham represents the biggest threat to Arsene Wenger's job at Arsenal.
Former Tottenham manager Venables is convinced Gunners fans would not accept finishing below Harry Redknapp's Tottenham this season.
In his column for The Sun, El Tel wrote: "The Gunners boss might have one of the safest jobs in football despite the fact he last guided his team to a trophy in 2005.
"But nobody is indispensable, especially football managers. And if I was Wenger, I would keep half an eye on the remarkable job Redknapp is doing at the other end of the Seven Sisters Road.
"Because it could have serious implications on the Frenchman's future at the Emirates.
"Gooners everywhere have been incredibly patient with their manager in their recent dry seasons.
"They have been prepared to accept the switch from their spiritual Highbury home to the Emirates. They have also been prepared to accept a shortage of big-money signings while they pay for their tremendous new stadium. And they have even been prepared to accept a drought of silverware for the past four seasons.
"But would they be prepared to accept their bitter rivals finishing above them in the Premier League's top four? I suspect that could be taking it a step too far."
