Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan was delighted to be recognised by his teammates at their awards night.
Vaughan's performances were actually deemed more worthy of the club's player of the year award.
The former Crewe player, who joined Blackpool three years ago after a spell at Real Sociedad, said: "Charlie was pleased for me to win the award but it's a club where individual awards are less important than the team and that's they way we have always regarded it.
"To win any award is great but when the players vote for you it's a bit more special because they understand what you go through and how well you have done."
