Vaughan explains Everton goal celebration

James Vaughan has explained his goal celebration for Everton in their win over Burnley.

It was his first goal in over two years, having last been on the score sheet in the Blues' 3-2 Uefa Cup win over AZ Alkmaar back in December 2007.

"A few months back my grandmother died and I had a tattoo put on my wrist, and that goal was to commemorate her really," Vaughan told evertonTV.

"She was a very big part of my life and a strong person leading me forward in my football, so it was important to pay my respects to her.

"I hope this next year coming I can stay injury free, try and get match fit and try and help Everton as much as I can."
