Martin Vasquez has been appointed the new head coach of MLS club Chivas USA. The Mexican-born American was heavily linked with the job leading up to this week and it was officially announced on Wednesday that he has filled the vacancy left by Preki Radosavljevi? who took the head job at Toronto FC.
Vasquez has coaching experience as an assistant with Chivas (from 2005-2008), LA Galaxy and German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and is delighted to be installed as the club's head coach.
"I am honored to return to Chivas USA as the club's new Head Coach," said Vásquez. "I was a part of this team at the very beginning, and have seen it make great strides in the last few years.
"The club is in a strong place and still has a great deal of potential. This is a wonderful opportunity, and I can't wait to get started."
