Vasco da Gama striker Maxi Lopez admits he has no relationship with Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi.

The pair were teammates at Sampdoria but fell out when the Inter captain began a relationship with his fellow Argentine's ex-wife Wanda Nara.

“I have no relationship with Icardi. He's the husband of my ex-wife," he told Globoesporte.

“I'm only tied to my children and their mother when she decides to stay calm. Things haven't been great with her for a few years.

“I've always tried to have a good relationship with her, but it often becomes difficult because like I always say, parents' problems aren't those of the children.

“The children must stay out of it, but one day she might understand that too."
