Luke Varney says he will not be setting any long-term goals after signing with Leeds United.
The 29-year old striker has witnessed firsthand the uncertainties of football whilst playing with financially-stricken Portsmouth and has vowed to change the way he goes about things now he has made the move to Elland Road.
"To be honest I've stopped making long-term plans now because what has happened at Portsmouth shows how things can change so quickly in football these days," Varney told SkySports.com.
"I'll just take it one game at a time and I will look to repay the faith that Leeds have shown in me on the pitch this season.
"I started last season well and then suffered a blow with the knee injury, so I feel I've got something to prove this year and hopefully I can get a run in the team and show what I can do again."
