Varney backing Portsmouth push for Man Utd legend Solskjaer

Portsmouth striker Luke Varney is backing their bid to make Ole Gunnar Solskjaer their new manager.

Ex-Manchester United star Solskjaer, who hit 126 goals in 366 games for the Old Trafford giants, is top of Pompey's managerial wanted-list.

Solskjaer, 38, has guided Molde to the top of the Norwegian League after quitting as United reserve boss.

Varney, who has hit three goals in three games since switching to up front from midfield, said: "If he does come, we'd learn to pop the ball in the net just like him!

"I hope Solskjaer would still be able to play for us, if he is fit enough. If he comes in, the lads would embrace it."
