The agent of Catania defender Juan Vargas says the Peru international is on his way to Fiorentina.

The deal is still to be rubberstamped, but Carlos Delgado said yesterday: "Vargas has a verbal agreement with Fiorentina for the next five years. Before this, there was already agreement between Fiorentina and Catania.

"Everything will be done in the coming days with his arrival in Florence. He's signed for one of the biggest clubs in European football and it is the most interesting project we have been offered.

"It's a contract very beneficial for him and his family."
