Varela on verge of joining DC United
Spanish winger Carlos Varela is extremely close to joining MLS outfit DC United.
The 32-year old, who has spent his entire career in the Swiss Super League, is tending to ‘personal matters’ in Europe but will return as soon as possible to finalise a deal with DC.
Varela has been in trial for the past two weeks and all necessary paperwork to allow him to join United for the remainder of the season will be put through by MLS roster deadline day which is next Wednesday.
