Vardy keen to come up against Messi, Ronaldo as Leicester look towards Champions League

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is eager to face the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo next season as the Foxes look set to secure Champions League qualification.

The Foxes are currently leading the league table ahead of Tottenham and Arsenal and are readying themselves for a shot at Europe's premier club competition next term.

Vardy was speaking at a launching event organised by Betfair when he was asked which players he would like to face in the Champions League and indicated that a certain Barcelona maestro and Real Madrid ace were on his radar.

"You'd obviously have to say the likes of (Lionel) Messi and (Cristiano) Ronaldo," said Vardy.

"They're obviously the world's best and they have been for years, but we still know there's a long way to go until that might happen and we know that we've got to take each game as they come."
