Kenny Miller has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 16 of the 2013 season.

The 33-year old Scottish striker scored a brace and was involved in another goal as Vancouver Whitecaps came from behind to defeat New England Revolution 4-3 on the weekend.

Miller won the 23rd minute penalty which saw Camilo give the Whitecaps a chance at BC Place after the Revs had scored twice in the opening 20 minutes.

The former Wolves, Rangers and Celtic ace then equalised six minutes prior to the break with a fabulous goal where he flicked the ball over his marker before advancing into the area and slotting neatly beyond Revs keeper Bobby Shuttleworth.

Miller edged Vancouver ahead with just over 20 minutes left with a sublime looped volley to give his side a vital victory at home, taking his personal tally to five goals from six outings.

Miller becomes the first Whitecaps player this season to receive the weekly nod and the first since Camilo was voted in by North American Soccer Reporters in Week 3 of 2011.
