Vancouver Whitecaps FC have announced that centre-back Mouloud Akloul has been signed to the club's Major League Soccer (MLS) roster.
The 28-year old Frenchman was with the Whitecaps in the USSF Division 2 last season but has now been added to the MLS list much to the delight of head coach Teitur Thordarson.
"Mouloud has done extremely well to overcome the unfortunate injury he suffered last season and be part of our MLS roster," said Thordarson. "We know Mouloud has many qualities as a centre back, but his determination to get himself fit again just shows how strong of a character he is. I'm very much looking forward to working with him this season."
Akloul, who has previously played in his homeland with both Lorient and Vannes, is determined to show the soccer community what he is capable of after recovering from a fractured ankle last year.
"I'm very happy to sign with Vancouver Whitecaps FC," said Akloul. "It's a beautiful city and a fantastic club. I look forward to showing everyone what I'm capable of this season."
