Vancouver Whitecaps sign draft selection Clement

Vancouver Whitecaps have added MLS SuperDraft pick Adam Clement to their senior roster.

The 22-year old central defender has signed a professional deal with the Whitecaps and will officially join the club pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.

Clement was taken with pick number 31 in the 2013 draft from the Duquesne University Dukes.

"Adam impressed us a lot with his quality during the preseason and we believe he has all the tools to become an important contributor within our club," said Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie.

Clement, who received 2011 and 2012 Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honours, added: "This is a dream come true. I've heard that Vancouver is an awesome city with amazing fans and I can't wait to give my all for them."
