Vancouver Whitecaps' Mattocks undecided about Jamaica call-up

Darren Mattocks admits he is not sure about what he should do regarding his recent call-up to the Jamaica national team.

The 23-year old Vancouver Whitecaps forward has been included in Winfried Schafer's roster for Friday's World Cup qualifier against the USA in Kansas City but there is some doubt about going as the Canadian club pursue a Western Conference playoffs spot.

Vancouver meet Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders on Wednesday and Mattocks says he will have to make a decision on whether or not he links up with the Reggae Boyz or stays with the Whitecaps.

"I'm contemplating it to be honest," he said.

"It's 50-50 if I go. Especially the way I played (Sunday against Portland Timbers).

"There's still a good chance we can get a result in Seattle and then (we have) two games against Colorado, so I'm going to contact the Jamaica Federation and see what they think.

"It could go either way. I'm not saying I'm staying but I'm not saying I'm leaving."

Jamaica currently sit at the foot of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2014 World Cup with just four points from eight hexagonal group fixtures.
