Vancouver Whitecaps will hold onto their traditional name when they enter MLS in 2011.

The Canadian club have been granted the 17th licence to join the league and it has been revealed that their current name will not change once they are a fully-fledged MLS competitor.

"We are fully behind continuing the Whitecaps name," said co-owner Jeff Mallett.

One thing that will change will be a new logo and uniforms that are expected to be completed by May.
