Vancouver Whitecaps' Hassli plays down transfer talk

Vancouver Whitecaps striker Eric Hassli has cooled speculation that he could be on his way out this summer.

The Frenchman has started just eight MLS matches this season and is believed to be unhappy with his role under coach Martin Rennie but he has made it clear that he is not about to up and leave, especially with the Whitecaps sitting third on the Western Conference table.

"No, actually, I don't really think about that," Hassli said regarding a potential departure.

"I just continue to work. You never know, but I just want to be focused on practice and be ready for games because we've got a lot of games.

"Yeah, it's tough, it's really tough. It's not a good moment for me, but the team [is winning] so I can't say anything. I just try my best at every practice and hope I start the next game every time."
